Monte Carlo

Casino Square, the Hôtel de Paris and the Carré d'Or boutiques — Monaco's most famous district, best enjoyed with reservations made before you arrive.

Monte Carlo is the Monaco of postcards: the Belle Époque casino, supercars idling outside the Hôtel de Paris, more celebrated restaurants per street than almost anywhere in Europe. Compact enough to cross on foot in twenty minutes, the district rewards access over logistics: the right terrace table, a host expecting you at the casino, dinner timed for when the square is at its best. That is exactly what we arrange.

The Casino and the square

The Casino de Monte-Carlo is the district's anchor. The atrium and gardens are free to admire by day; the gaming rooms open in the afternoon, with a dress code and an entry fee for the main salons. If you'd like the evening handled properly — entry arranged, dinner before or after, a driver on call — our casino experience combines the square's pieces into one seamless reservation.

Place du Casino itself is the show: an aperitivo on the Café de Paris terrace while the square fills with cars worth more than most houses.

Shopping in the Carré d'Or

The Carré d'Or — the streets immediately around the square, plus the One Monte-Carlo and Metropole galleries — concentrates the major maisons: Hermès, Chanel, Cartier, Bulgari and their neighbours. Boutiques here are used to serious clients and short visits. If you want an appointment, a private viewing or a specific piece sourced before you arrive, tell us and we'll arrange it directly with the boutique.

Where to eat and drink

Monte Carlo holds Monaco's highest concentration of starred tables: Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel de Paris, Le Grill on the hotel's rooftop, and a bench of classic hotel bars — the American Bar remains the definitive nightcap. Tell us your dates and party size and we'll tell you honestly which tables are realistic, then hold the right one. Our Michelin dining page explains how we handle reservations.

Monte Carlo and the Grand Prix

For one weekend a year the district becomes part of the circuit: Casino Square, the tunnel exit and the Fairmont hairpin all sit within Monte Carlo. Track-view terraces and suites here are among the most sought-after hospitality in Formula 1 and sell many months ahead — see our Grand Prix hospitality options and the 2027 Grand Prix guide if you're planning for race week.

Getting around

Monte Carlo is walkable, and public lifts and escalators connect it to the port below and the Larvotto beaches. For evenings, a chauffeur (typically €75–120 per hour) removes parking and timing from the equation. The heliport at Fontvieille is five minutes by car, which makes the 7-minute helicopter hop from Nice airport the natural way to arrive.
