Monaco Yacht Charter Prices

Ask three Monaco brokers what a yacht day costs and you'll get three quotes and no explanation. This guide is the explanation: real numbers for day charters out of Port Hercule and Fontvieille, what moves a price up or down, and how the money actually flows — including the part nobody volunteers, the broker commission that means booking through a concierge costs you nothing extra.

The honest price range

CharterTypical price (per boat)Notes
Entry day charterfrom €1,200Smaller motorboats and open cruisers, skipper included
Typical day-charter range€1,200–€5,000+ / daySize, age, crew and season decide where you land
Event weeks (Grand Prix, Yacht Show)+30–100%The same boats, the same sea, much scarcer

Two things worth internalising. First, charter prices are per boat, not per person — a €2,000 day split across eight guests is €250 a head, less than dinner at some Monaco tables. Second, €1,200 is a real floor, not a teaser: a legitimate day on the water with a skipper — just not on the 40-metre yacht in the photograph.

What actually moves the price

  • Size and type — the single biggest factor. Length, brand and age of the boat explain most of the spread between €1,200 and €5,000+.
  • Season — July and August are peak. May, June and September offer the same sea at softer rates.
  • Event weeks — Grand Prix week and the Monaco Yacht Show in September push rates up 30–100%, and availability tightens months ahead.
  • Duration and route — half-day versus full day; fuel-hungry itineraries cost more than a gentle coastal cruise with swim stops.
  • Crew and extras — hostess, catering and water toys are quoted per boat.

Fuel and APA — the line items people miss

Two pricing conventions confuse first-timers. Some day charters quote fuel included for a set route; others charge fuel on consumption, settled at the dock. On larger and weekly charters you'll meet the APA — Advance Provisioning Allowance — a deposit that covers fuel, food, drinks and berths, accounted for by the captain with any unspent balance returned. Before you confirm, ask exactly which model applies to your boat and what sits inside the number. We put this in writing with every quote.

Why booking through us costs you nothing extra

Yacht charter runs on a broker commission of roughly 15–20% of the charter fee — paid by the boat's owner out of the price, not added on top of it. That is how the whole industry works, whether you book through a large brokerage or through us: the owner pays the commission, you pay the charter price either way. An independent concierge is therefore not a markup layer — it's the filter that knows which boats are well-run, which skippers are good with children, and which "luxury yacht" is actually a tired hull with good photographs. You always pay the operator directly; never us.

How to book smart

  • Tell us the date, the guest count and what the day is for — a swim day, a lunch reservation reached by water, a sunset cruise. The right boat follows from the purpose.
  • If your dates are flexible, choose May, June or September: better value, calmer harbours.
  • Event weeks need months of lead time, not weeks.
  • Ask for the all-in number: charter fee, fuel model, extras. A good quote fits in one WhatsApp message.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to charter a yacht in Monaco for a day?

Day charters start from €1,200 per boat, and the typical range is €1,200–€5,000+ per day depending on the boat's size, the season and the date. Prices are per boat, not per person — split across a group, the per-head cost falls quickly.

Is fuel included in the charter price?

Sometimes. Many day charters include fuel for a set route; others charge fuel on consumption, settled at the dock. Larger and weekly charters often use an APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) deposit covering fuel, food and berths, with any unspent balance returned. Confirm the fuel model in writing before you book.

Do prices rise during the Monaco Grand Prix or Yacht Show?

Yes. During event weeks, expect rates roughly 30–100% above normal for comparable boats, and availability tightens months in advance. Book early if your dates coincide.

Does booking through a concierge cost more than booking direct?

No. The industry-standard broker commission of 15–20% is paid by the boat's owner out of the charter price, not added on top. You pay the same charter price either way, and you always pay the operator directly.

Can we charter for just a few hours?

Yes. Half-day and sunset charters exist and price below full-day rates. Tell us your window and we'll quote what is realistically available for it.

What is the best month for value?

May, June and September: warm water, open restaurants and softer rates than peak July–August. Note that Grand Prix week — early June in 2027 — is the exception inside June.
